My Biography
I am originally from Frankfort, KY. I have been enamored with veterinary medicine since a very young age- my dad often jokes that I wanted to be a veterinarian before I even knew what the word ‘veterinarian’ meant. After high school, I attended Murray State University where I was a sister of Sigma Alpha sorority and an officer of the Animal Health Technology and Pre-Vet club.
I graduated from Murray State in 2012 and went on to attend veterinary school at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. While there, I was a member of Omega Tau Sigma professional veterinary fraternity and was an officer in SCAVMA (student chapter of the AVMA).
After graduation from veterinary school in 2016, I started working at Noah’s Ark Animal Clinic in Fort Wright, KY. While at Noah’s ark, I met my wife, Jen, and made life-long friends. I practiced here until June 2019.
In June 2019, I started working at Grady Veterinary Hospital, a state of the art, 24/7 veterinary hospital where I saw dogs, cats, and small mammals for preventative care and on an emergency basis. However, after the COVID-19 pandemic I made my way to All Creatures Animal Hospital in Amelia, Ohio, where I worked for a few years seeing dogs, cats, and exotic companion mammals.
In January 2023, I took the leap to start my own veterinary relief business, Hogan Veterinary Relief, PLLC. Relief veterinarians are “substitute” veterinarians that help veterinary practices when they are understaffed, overbooked, or when the regular veterinarian(s) just need a little time off! I operated as an independent relief veterinarian until December 2023, and then took on a full-time role as the ER Medical Director at Greater Cincinnati Veterinary Specialists in Wilder, Ky. While at GCVS, I helped pets in Critical Care scenarios, and enjoyed working in the fast-paced and high-stakes environment. However, I missed the independence that relief work provided, and the demanding schedule was not the best fit for my family.
I left GCVS at the end of January 2025. After some time away, I have decided to dive back into full-time veterinary relief, offering relief veterinary services in the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati area. Please see this page for additional information about my veterinary relief services.
I am very passionate about veterinary medicine, entrepreneurship, the human-animal bond, and client education. I enjoy working as a relief veterinarian because I love meeting different veterinarians, clinical staff, and clients! I am excited to see where my next adventure will lead! If you are interested in working together in the future, please contact me.

My wife, Jen, works at Noah’s Ark Animal Clinic in Florence, Kentucky. We have a home together in DeMossville, Kentucky, where we have a 10-acre homestead. On the homestead we have three dogs, two cats, 20 something chickens, registered myotonic/fainting goats, and two horses.
In my free time, I enjoy horseback riding, hiking, spending time outdoors, and practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I am an avid reader and especially love learning about ways to improve myself, my practice, my platform, and my leadership abilities.
